Mr. Russell’s 2nd Class 2007/2008 went on a brilliant trip to Cobh in Co. Cork!
The boys did a History Scavenger Hunt around Cobh’s town centre, and saw many of the town’s links to the Titanic, learning lots along the way. Cobh was the Titanic’s last port of call in 1912. The boys also visited the old cemetary in Cobh, where many gravestones mark victims of the Titanic, and also of the ship the Lusitania, which sank off the coast of Cork in 1915 during World War I when it was attacked by a German submarine. The boys had a great day – especially when they stopped at McDonald’s in Dungarvan on the way home!
