Mr. C. Hayden’s 6th Class visited Waterford City Library at Lady Lane for Science Week 2018!
The boys went to learn about DNA. They extracted DNA from a banana using water, salt, pineapple juice, methylated spirits, and washing up liquid. They were then able to see the DNA under a microscope. They also learned that DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid – that’s quite a mouthful! Everyone enjoyed the talk for Science Week – and there are some pictures from 6th Class’ visit in the gallery below!
