St. Stephen's De La Salle

Mr. Russell’s 5th Class 2018/2019 connected with the Canadian Canoe Museum on Friday, November 30th, 2018. The boys learned all about canoes and kayaks and how traditional canoes and kayaks were built. The class got to learn about dugouts of the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest as well as the bark canoes of Newfoundland, and also about skin-on-frame kayaks and all-wood and canvas-covered canoes. It was all hugely interesting. St. Stephen’s is very grateful to everyone in the Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Canada for making the time to share their time and expertise with the boys in 5th Class. Check out some photos below from the 5th Class Skype with Canada’s Canoe Museum!
