Mr. Russell’s 5th Class 2019/2020 had an amazing learning experience when they got a chance to Skype with Sorcha at Blackrock Castle Observatory for Space Week! Sorcha used the open source software Stellarium to take the boys on a journey around the solar system and the planets, including Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, as well as looking at some of the constellations that the boys had been learning about during the week. The class also had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about the space journey that they had just been on. A huge word of thanks to Sorcha and Blackrock Castle Observatory for their time and the wonderful information that was shared with 5th Class!
