St. Stephen's De La Salle

Mr. Russell’s 3rd Class had a very interesting and enjoyable “Biodiversity Bootcamp” workshop with Eoin, the local Biodiversity officer with Waterford City Council, on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023.

Eoin visited the boys in their classroom, and gave a very interesting and interactive talk about biodiversity in Ireland and about many of the different species that live in our country, including bees, hedgehogs, foxes, robins, frogs, as well as talking about the adaptations that many of the different species have made. New words such as habitat, ecosystem and amphibian came up and everyone came away knowing what they mean. The time just flew by! Thanks to Eoin from Waterford City Council for giving so much time to talk about Biodiversity in Ireland and taking lots of questions from the boys too. Check out some photos in the gallery below!
