We have taken part in many different physical challenges over the past 2 years linked to the Active Flag. The boys loved the Active Movement Breaks Challenges and these continue to be used in class.
We also took part in whole school challenges linked to ‘Go Orange’ for Solas, a Santa Dash at Christmas and a Relay Take Over. All of these activities are led by our Active Committee members who guide and support all classes. The committee members lead a warm up with music to get everyone upbeat before we go.
We have taken part in two whole school challenges linked to Geography and travelling around Europe. The boys all ran (last year in 2023/2024) and now are skipping around Europe in 2024/2025. There are great resources linked to these activities from the Active Flag website and the classes love to compete against each other each week to improve!! The winning classes get the prize of a trip to Villa FC for more activity!
This year we tried out some lunchtime games. Unfortunately, we are very limited on space in St. Stephen’s, but our Active Schools Group members took time out of their own lunchbreak to provide games and challenges to different classes throughout Term 2. The resources were gathered and set up by the committee members with both older and younger students working together. The games were all based around fundamental movements, teamwork and most importantly fun! Please check out the organisation skills and the laughing faces shown in the games in the pictures below!
