To help promote awareness of the many nationalities of everyone associated with St. Stephen’s, the boys and staff on the Diversity Committee organised a Soccer World Cup competition!
With some help from the Active Flag committee, the boys in 2nd, 3rd and 4th Classes were mixed together and given a country other than Ireland somewhere in the world. The teams then competed in a group stage, quarter finals, semi finals and final to win the 2nd/3rd/4th Class Diversity World Cup. See the teams from this competition in the gallery below:
Thanks to Miss Power, we have some action shots from the thrilling games that took place in the 2024 2nd/3rd/4th Class Diversity World Cup – see those in this gallery:
Finally, the 5th and 6th Class Diversity World Cup was played out in a series of group games, quarter finals, semi finals and an edge-of-your-seat, evenly matched Cup Final! Like in the younger competition, the boys from the 5th and 6th Classes were mixed together and given a country other than Ireland somewhere in the world. The teams from the 5th and 6th Class Diversity World Cup can be seen in this gallery:
