Mr. Russell’s 3rd Class had the opportunity to enjoy a few weeks of Guided Reading in April of 2021! Mrs. Hatton and Miss Widger came to visit the boys every Thursday and Friday and brought a brilliant selection of books with them! Thursday were fiction books and Friday were non fiction, following on from the previous day’s story. The class were divided into groups. Half the class read while the other half did some free writing – on a topic picked out of the Writing Jar by one of the boys! After 15 minutes, the groups switched over. It was a wonderful activity for the class and everyone enjoyed the wide variety of books that they were able to read over the weeks of Guided Reading. Thanks to Mrs. Hatton and Miss Widger for organising this fantastic activity – and well done to all the boys for taking part with such enthusiasm!
