Our under 11 hurlers took part in an indoor 5 a side blitz in the Butler Community Centre on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. We played two matches, drawing the first and winning the second. This saw us quality for the next round. Mr. C. Hayden and Mr. Barrett were delighted with the effort of the boys on the day. Behaviour was excellent, as always, and the boys were a credit to themselves, their families and their school in the way that they conducted themselves. With the stretch in the evenings and the (hopefully) improving weather it’s a great opportunity for the boys to get out in the fresh air to practice and be active. St. Stephen’s Abú!!
Following the indoor hurling blitz at the end of January, our under 11 hurlers took part in the final of the indoor hurling competition at the Butler’s Community Centre in early February 2023. We had some really competitive matches and played Ballyduff in the final. As in the group stages, the two teams could not be separated and extra time was required. The boys kept up the great effort and eventually prevailed against an equally determined Ballyduff team. The positivity and joy that this win brought to the boys was wonderful to see and they fully deserved to enjoy their win. Well done and congratulations to all of the boys. Keep up the fantastic effort and keep practicing at home and with your club teams!
