Building a Tower to withstand a Hurricane! – St. Stephen's De La Salle

St. Stephen's De La Salle

More amazing work from Mr. O’Sullivan’s 4th Class! The boys worked in groups to design and build a tower to withstand the force of a hurricane. To mimic the power of a hurricane the building was placed 30cm from a fan on full power. The structure had to be a minimum of 30cm in height. The boys were only allowed to use a certain number of materials and they were not allowed to fix the structure to the table. The budding engineers took inspiration from different buildings they researched from around the world. All six groups passed the hurricane test using different and ingenious methods. Brilliant work from all the boys! The future of architecture and engineering is in good hands!
