Mr. Russell’s 5th Class 2024/2025 went on a fantastic school tour to Dublin Zoo on Friday, June 6th, 2025! The boys met at the train station at 7:15am and boarded the train to Dublin.
They arrived just after 10:00am and walked the short distance to the zoo. What followed was a fantastic day as the boys explored the Zoorassic Trail with dinosaurs and information all along the trail. They visited the Family Farm and the African Plains, before taking in a Dinosaur Detectives workshop where the class worked as junior archaeologists and dusted off the fossilised skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Then it was back off around the zoo to see the lemurs, Humbolt penguins, tigers, lions, sea lions and more!
The day finished back at the train station, with a visit to Supermacs for burgers, chips and ice cream. Then it was time to board the train and return to Waterford, arriving home at just 9:00pm. It was a long but hugely successful day and everyone had a great time!
