Mr. O’Sullivan’s 4th Class designed bridges in groups for Science Week 2022. They worked together to design, test out and explore ways of making the bridge stronger. The challenge set was to leave a 15cm gap and use a maximum of 3 sheets of A4 paper only. The boys came up with ingenious ways of making surprisingly strong bridges. The record for the amount of load a bridge could take without collapsing was 69 coins! The winning team used walled sides and an arch support underneath. All groups did a fantastic job as young engineers and they should be very proud of their efforts – well done to all the boys!
