Check out this amazing Reaction Time Science Experiment in Mr. O’Sullivan’s 4th Class for Science Week 2022! The boys wrote up their experiment report which included materials needed, a step-by-step method, a labelled diagram and their predictions. The boys cut out strips of paper with reaction times marked on the side. They added a paper clip and blue tack which acted as a weight so that there was no air resistance and the only force at play was gravity. In pairs, one boy dropped the strip and the other boy tried to react as quickly as possible by pinching the strip in mid air. The boys recorded their reaction times which varied from approximately 0.10 seconds and 0.25 seconds. The boys really enjoyed testing out the force of gravity and seeing how fast their bodies can react. Fantastic work – and some budding future scientists here for sure!
