Miss Flavin’s 3rd Class got a chance to flex their STEM muscles during Science Week in November 2024.

The boys did not one but TWO excellent projects that required a great deal of teamwork and problem solving, as well as testing and changing based on the results of the tests. The class worked in small groups to create marble runs – plenty of testing required there to make sure that the marble would be able to complete the course! Then the boys created towers made from marshmallows and spaghetti – again, they had to test the structure to make sure that the tower wouldn’t just fall over, and it gave them a super chance to learn about trial and error as they had to revisit their constructions to make changes based on whether their tower stood without support or not.
